With over 27 years of association with the IT Industry in various capacities, adopting & adapting Information Technology, Architecting Solutions and Applications, improving Application performance and Modernizing Applications, Jairam brings forth a rich blend of Technical expertise, Project & Program Management and Team Management skills.

Working as an Architect at Xambala Inc., CIO at Mphasis, CTO at EDS-India, Project Manager at CMC Ltd., Jairam has had occasion to work with several technologies and platforms, including flavors of UNIX, Oracle, Sybase, MS-SQL Server, Tuxedo, Java / EE and .NET.

Experience Summary :

Driven by a passion for Technology he is ever eager to be involved with development and implementation of IT based solutions, be they Application software or Infrastructure Management. The various roles that he has played, over the years make him adept in most facets of IT service delivery; from project management to code delivery; from boardroom to the backroom.

Delivering Stock Exchange Trading applications with CMC Ltd., EDS and Xambala orient him towards designing and delivering applications that have high transaction throughput, high reliability and scalability. This usually requires working with the Operating System, Multi-threading and IPC mechanisms.

Corporate Planning Application in the Manufacturing domain, delivered with EDS, required handling high data volume without degradation of application response times. Process Automation of EDS' CMMI L5 processes called for reusable components, portal design, workflow (state management) and application enforced security. Application Modernization introduced me to Enterprise Architecture Management principles akin to TOGAF.

Capability Management is another facet of Organizational wellbeing that Jairam has worked on. Playing a pivotal role in setting up the Applications' Modernization (AMOD) Capability in EDS-India entailed building up the team, setting business and operational plans, defining and formalizing technical and governance processes, setting and tracking individual development plans and executing projects.

Other capabilities that he has helped in managing are the .NET and the Java capabilities, mainly providing Technology insight and hand holding Architecture and Design teams, rather than the operational aspects of these Centres Of Excellence.

In the role of the Chief Information Officer for MphasiS India and CTO for EDS-India, he had managed the deployment of the IT habitat of the Company. Server farms, networks and the applications deployed in these environment. Running the IT operations of the Company at optimal efficiency and cost, managing the annual IT budget, automating the operational needs also fell in the ambit of his responsibilities.

In the role of the Chief Technology Officer for EDS-India, he had set the Technical direction for the Organization. This included validating technical designs in various platforms and development environments. He endorsed the software development processes followed by the Applications' Delivery Team and helped in institutionalising them. He assisted the selection and deployment of development tools in the Solution Centre, develop Technology and Capital plans, support the Sales process and mentor individuals to grow in the company as Technologists.
